Achieve the Core’s Aligned is a publication dedicated to the conversation about Common Core aligned instructional materials. It fosters discussion about education trends in the field that inform the way we think about alignment of instructional materials. The blog is divided into six categories: 1.Case Studies and Series; 2.Tools; 3.Instructional Materials Taskforce; 4.Training Resources; 5.Supplementing and Adapting; and 6.Unpacking Alignment.

Benefits and Uses:

The Aligned blog touches on a variety of relevant topics related to the implementation of states’ challenging academic content standards in ELA/literacy and mathematics.

Use the Aligned posts to learn about new tools and resources, and trends in the field of education that inform the way we think about alignment of instructional materials.

Postings about case studies, tools, supplementing and adapting, and unpacking alignment categories may be particularly helpful. The article “Using What You Have” http://achievethecore.org/aligned/using-what-you-have provides insight and general resources for teachers to use in the classroom.
